 A fine example, WIV c1835 scrolled end rosewood sofa, this splendid sofa finished in period exotic rosewood and enhanced by the superb terracotta fabric with coordinating double piping, squab and baluster cushions, the superb attention to detail is evident throughout, raised on four carved and turned supports with later castors, the scrolled out swept arms with crafted carvings of acanthus, the splendid attention detail continues to the show wood back, the sofa is with the very good weight reflecting the early period timbers, such examples as this are evidence of the standards that could be achieved by carvers from the period.
