A fine all original Victorian bur walnut and boxwood strung writing desk, the desk is a splendid example for both craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout, the unmistakable bur walnut can bee seen at its best and is undisturbed by the years past, finely inlaid stringing continues throughout the desk, the desk raised on four splendidly turned tapering and fluted supports displaying carvings of acanthus and capped with there original brass and ceramic castors, the desk can boast seven good drawers with ample storage space, with two deeper frieze drawers, to the rear of the desk a splendidly crafted central stationary compartment finished in sycamore and flanked to either side by raised drawers with three quarter pierced brass gallery, all drawers are with mahogany linings and retaining there locks with keys.
