A fine c1830 Regency flamed mahogany secretarie chest of drawers, the secretaire is a splendid example from the period, raised on splayed foot united by serpentine apron, rising above three graduated drawers to secretaire fall, the fall displaying cross banding and stringing this detail continues to the top, the drawers are with oak linings and ivory escutcheons, on lowering the fall reveals a fitted interior certainly fitting for such a fine piece, the secretaire is finished very tastefully in exotic rosewood, 14 diminutive drawers flank 6 pigeon holes with fretwork frieze, the fall is held secure by its original brass stays, I believe you will find the condition throughout is far better than you could possible expect from the period….. A fine period piece.
